You may only need one document, but signing into email or messaging can reveal years of conversations, private photos, invoices, recovery links, and identity information.
The machine may not be trustworthy
Extensions, screen recording, malware, keyloggers, remote support tools, or a nearby observer can capture information before you have a chance to sign out.
Notifications reveal more
Message previews, verification codes, names, subjects, and private alerts can appear on screen while you search for the file you intended to send.

When printing, presenting, or rushing to leave, people commonly forget downloaded copies, browser history, trash folders, and active sessions.

HOW DROP WORKS
One QR code. Two browsers. No account.
Open
Visit Drop on the computer that should send or receive the file. It creates a temporary private session.
Scan
Scan the QR code with your phone. The private link contains the temporary credentials needed to pair the two devices.
Transfer
Select a file or folder on either device. Drop attempts a direct encrypted WebRTC connection between the browsers.
Finish
View received images or PDFs, download other files, and end the session. Temporary pairing data expires automatically.

Your file takes the shortest practical route.
Drop is designed so the file travels directly between the paired browsers whenever the network allows it. The lightweight service coordinates the introduction; it does not receive or store the file itself.

HONEST LIMITATIONS
Direct transfer depends on both devices.
- Keep both browser pages open and awake until the transfer finishes.
- Some corporate, school, VPN, or strict mobile networks can block direct peer-to-peer connections.
- Large received files must fit in the receiving browser’s available memory.
- Folder selection support varies by browser; multiple-file selection remains available.
