A SAFER WAY TO MOVE A FILE

Share files.
Not your login.

PUBLIC COMPUTER, PRIVATE LIFE

A quick login can leave a long trail.

Opening a personal account on a shared, school, hotel, office, print-shop, or public computer creates risks that are easy to overlook.

01

Your session may remain open

Closing a tab is not always the same as signing out. The next person may find your inbox, messages, contacts, attachments, or account settings still available.

02

The browser may remember you

Passwords, autofill details, cookies, recent accounts, search history, and downloaded files can remain on a computer you do not control.

03

Your whole account is exposed

You may only need one document, but signing into email or messaging can reveal years of conversations, private photos, invoices, recovery links, and identity information.

04

The machine may not be trustworthy

Extensions, screen recording, malware, keyloggers, remote support tools, or a nearby observer can capture information before you have a chance to sign out.

05

Notifications reveal more

Message previews, verification codes, names, subjects, and private alerts can appear on screen while you search for the file you intended to send.

06

Sign-out is easy to forget

When printing, presenting, or rushing to leave, people commonly forget downloaded copies, browser history, trash folders, and active sessions.

Drop reduces exposure. You never type your email, WhatsApp, Google, Apple, Microsoft, or cloud-storage credentials into the other computer.

HOW DROP WORKS

One QR code. Two browsers. No account.

1

Open

Visit Drop on the computer that should send or receive the file. It creates a temporary private session.

2

Scan

Scan the QR code with your phone. The private link contains the temporary credentials needed to pair the two devices.

3

Transfer

Select a file or folder on either device. Drop attempts a direct encrypted WebRTC connection between the browsers.

4

Finish

View received images or PDFs, download other files, and end the session. Temporary pairing data expires automatically.

DESIGNED FOR MINIMUM DATA

Your file takes the shortest practical route.

Drop is designed so the file travels directly between the paired browsers whenever the network allows it. The lightweight service coordinates the introduction; it does not receive or store the file itself.
